This another example of more money for poor management- vote

Commonality?

What do Fountain Lake School District (FL) and Quitman (Q), and Valley Springs (VS have in common?  They are rural school districts in Arkansas.

Revenue Comparison?

State average revenue per student in 2021 was $10,802 and in 2020 it was $10,109.   FL enjoyed $1,864 more per student than Q and $2,059 more than VS in 2021 or $1,366,312 and $1,711,029 more than Q and VS in total in 2021.

Performance Comparison

In 2021 VS received a high achiever award for its Middle School and High School, Quitman for its High School, and FL "None."  Due to the pandemic in 2021 and 2020, the State Education Dept suspended testing.  The next comparison shows results for 2019 - 2017 comparatively.

Grading the Schools

(FL) (Elm, Mid, HS) 2019 B, B, C, 2018 C, B, C, 2017 C, C, B - (Q) (Elm, Mid, HS) 2019 C, B, C, 2018 B, no mid, B, 2017 B, no mid, B - (VS) (Elm, Mid, HS) 2019 B, A, A, 2018 A, A, A, 2017 A, B, A.

Comparing Q and VS to State

Quitman's and Valley Springs performance in 2021 was achieved in spite of being underfunded when compared to Fountain Lake, but even more telling is that they were underfunded compared to the state average per student for all schools!  For Quitman that is $986 per student and $722,738 in total! For Valley Springs that is $1,181 per student and $981,411 in total!

Who Deserves a Mileage Increase?

Certainly not Fountain Lake, but most assuredly Quitman and Valley Springs do for achieving so much with so little, which can only be explained by dedication, hard work, and making do with far inferior physical plant.

Is Deceit Part of It?

Notice that Fountain Lake is not making it easy for HSV residents to vote.  No polling sites within the Village. The fewer HSV residents that vote the less chance of a no vote, or any vote so that those properties outside the Village with lower assessments and therefore lower taxes can vote a higher tax on themselves of which the Village with its higher assessments will pay the lions share.  Sound like the old POA two tier once again?  You betcha!
